How to prep your T-Shirts and clothing items
Welcome to the RE-Vive the TEE family!! We are so happy you are here and have chosen to join hundreds of other happy CANADIAN customers!
Did you know the average Canadian throws away approximately 81lbs of textiles annually? crazy eh! And to think they could have been repurposed into an awesome cozy new quilt. Well together we can RE-Vive your cherished memories while at the same time, doing our bit to save the planet! Anyways, back to the juicy stuff!- what do you need to do to get the process started? Follow these simple steps and you will be wrapped up in your RE-Vive the TEE quilt before you know it!
To get started… Let’s double check how many panels you need for your chosen quilt using the chart below.
**Please note, a panel is either a front OR a back of a shirt. i.e, if your shirt has motifs on the front and back that you would like to include, it counts as TWO panels
STEP ONE- Choose your shirts
Each panel on your quilt will be constructed from 12” squares. The best way to ensure that you are sending items that are suitable for us to use is to cut a 12.5" x 12.5” square out of a piece of scrap cardboard or paper (the extra .5” is for our allowances when sewing) DO NOT CUT ANY OF YOUR SHIRTS JUST YET! Place this over the shirts you are wanting to include to check it fits over all of the motif/ design- if it does not, think carefully about whether you would like to include that particular piece. We feel motifs that have been cut in to slightly still look equally as awesome.
*Please note, if any of the shirts mailed to us are smaller than the required 12.5” square, we will request for further items to be sent to us and you will be subject to additional fees to cover the cost of handling and administration. Please ONLY send the right amount of T-Shirt sides for your quilt, any additional T-Shirt sides will be returned at a shipping cost to you
STEP TWO- Prepare your shirts
Ok so you have your T-Shirt sides sorted, now what? In order to keep shipping costs low for you, we ONLY need you to mail the T-shirt sides that you would like in your quilt. To do this, you will need to cut each shirt down the side seams and across the shoulder and sleeve. PLEASE DO NOT CUT THE 12.5” PANEL as we use special equipment to cut these that ensure they are accurate. To make it a little easier, we have added photos and prepared an instructional video for you to watch:
Please note that you are responsible for any costs involved in shipping your parcel to us, however we’ve got you covered for the RETURN shipping of your finished quilt. If you are unclear on how to prepare you shirts, please contact us at info@revivethetee.ca

Please ONLY cut the shirts as per our instructions, any incorrectly cut T-Shirt sides will be returned at a shipping cost to you
STEP THREE- Package up your shirts
You are almost there! Once your t-shirt sides are cut and prepared, place them into a package along with a printed copy of the invoice you received by email when you placed your order. If you are not able to access a printer, please ensure that you write your full name and order number along with your contact details on a piece of paper and include in the package. Please mail the completed package to:
